Actually, the ending and the begginning are both over almost instantly. Once you have begun something, the begginning is over with, and once something ends, it's over.
It's the middle/in between that drags on and on and on for ages and feels like it takes forever.

usually the beginning feels longer, like with a book you're thinking five pages into it "gosh how long is this fricken book anyways? when is something fun going to happen?"
