i have had that in the past mine was one of two things:
1. if the battery cell is bad it tells the computer that it is low in power making it shut off.
2. the processor could be getting to hot and as a safety it shuts down.

three possabilities
1. Overheating... Make sure the fans are getting air
2. Something to do with the power... battery could be out, or you need to check the power management
3. The Welchia B virus shuts down early versions of XP, you should be able to clean it off with a virus scanner for www.download.com

Maybe it is possessed... :) Seriously, it could be an overheating issue causing the shutdowns. How long is it on prior to shutting down? There could also be software issues but this is somewhat rare... When you say it closes down all the program, do you mean it takes the time to close everything properly or does it just shut off?

In the power options of a laptop, it has an option to automatically shut it down after the battery reaches a certain power level. U could have a bad battery, or its possible u could also have a virus / trojan in your computer.
