I'm finally getting a tattoo...and i decided to get something that i will be fine with 20 years from now... something that is meaningful or artsy. Ive searched many websites and have found very little. I also like quotes a lot. any ideas or good websites??

Don't make the lines to fine or close together. The marks get larger over the years and fine line designs get harder to see. Don't scratch at the tattoo when it is healing no matter how much it itches. you could foul it up. Make it colourful or make sure it can be colourized later. Never put your boyfriends name on your butt. Or your girlfriend's name on your chest or arms. Tattoos often last longer than relationships. Try to get it where it can be covered when you want to cover it but shown off without being totaly naked when you want to show it. In other words covered by formal wear.

How can it be meaningful coming from a complete stranger? If you like quotes pick one and go with that... try and come up with something on your own. I would wait on getting the tattoo until you do.

don't try to find a pre-existing design to go by. Design something yourself, think about what is most significant in your life. Take your ideas to a GOOD tattoo artist and ask them to put together a few drafts, choose a few you like. then you can build on the design you like most, add things, take away shapes or shadows.....a good artist will work with you until you are satisfied with the outcome.

One word of caution. Choose a place for your tattoo that is not visible when wearing summer clothing. Most people don't realize it is very hard to get a good job if you have tatts that show.

I don't have any websites, but I've always enjoyed celtic knots and crosses. I've seen a lot of older ladies with ladybugs. It wouln't be strange, to say the least.
