Personally, I don't care about them, per se, but I do enjoy seeing how the other half lives. It is an opportunity to live vicaiously through another. They have magnificent homes, cars, money to burn and travel to exotic locations. These are things that many of us would love to have yet, we don't!
Also, I believe most people secretly enjoy the fact that having fame and fortune obviously does not preclude a person from suffering the same trials and tribulations as us mere mortals do. When a celebrity says or does something that comes back to haunt them, we feel vindicated. It isn't only us who say and do stupid things then pay the consequences.

Because they are so famous. I like Celine Dion & I know where she came from and how her manager Rene became her husband. It makes us admire them.
