the simple answer is never, George lucas originally was going to make 12 Star Wars films, then he said 9 then he said 3, then in 1991 he said he'd make the prequels. After Revenge of the Sith though he said the would be no more Star Wars films. Return of the Jedi is the Last. What you can expect though is a TV series set between Revenge of the Sith and a new hope (over 100 episodes are planned) it will not feature Darth Vader or any Skywalkers but romers suggest Boba fett will appear. hope this helps.

George Lucas has always said that he will not make anymore films - but he did say that after return of the Jedi.
BUT...
there are plans for a some live and animated TV shows.
one will show stories portraying non-regular character - about their backgrounds and what happened to them.
the other is based around the time between episodes 3 & 4.
there are rumours of other ideas - but nothing has been leaked about them - yet.
i thought clone wars cartoon series 1+2 were fab, as they showed what the build up was between episodes 2+3.
there are so many books now regarding the star wars universe, from before episode 1 to over 30 years after the battle of endor - and they are all great.
may the force be with us - always

No it's not coming out, but George Lucas is doing a tv series which is about 100 episodes long.
I read it on yahoo news a few months back.

Hello!
George Lucas made it explicitly clear at the end of episode 6 (Return of the Jedi) that there would be no future ones, he killed off all the evil people what else is he going to do to it?

George Lucas has said in the past that there will be no more episodes after he completed the prequels. And below is a link to confirm that.

I don't think there are any plans for another film but I heard talk of a live action series set between episode 3 and 4.
It's an old article but... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/4484915.stm

originally there were 3 more episodes planned, but after Lucas finished episode 3, he said he was done and that there would be no more. the story ideas are there, he just doesn't want to produce any more of them. although someone could always buy the rights and produce them separately......

The series ended!! The 7th would be like a epilogue and it would probably be a long time before it did come out.
