5 or 6 cotes of polyurethane, then top with a good wax

Depending on the substrate there are different products. If your floor is concrete, flagstone, saltillo tile there is a product at The Home Depot called Behr Wet Look Sealer. It goes on milky-white and dries to a high gloss clear. There is also another product called Jasco Wet Seal with does basically the same thing. If you have hard wood floors use a polyurethane specifically for floors.

I'm going to use a high gloss polyurethane to cover my hardwood floors, it really protects it too

yes what they all said will work fine...but the more coats thebetter the gloss..andlonger it willlast..
