The news media has absolutely gone bonkers with this news item about Mr. Arar. Granted, he went thru some horror. But, hey the media - please, give me a break.... I have had it upto here with the news about Arar. OK, enough already.

The newspapers are one of the people's means of holding governments accountable. Theuy can only do this by whùat you call 'obsessing'. IIf they don't do it, perhaps the next victim of a terrible injustice on the part of the government will be you. Be thankful that somebody cares about these things. You can sleep more easily as a result.

I actually never heard of Maher Arar, but I agree that the mainstream Western (and the Israeli) media-please, give me a break.
