I mean lets be honest, were in the holy hell is the democracy!?! I do not see it. The failure to recognize the truth, is the intolerance of our generation. The sad part of this is there is no place that I can go to choose sides. The War is a mess. That I do know. I voted for Bush twice and I feel that I want to cry. I want to cry because the sickening thing about the war is the lies. The lies that this world would choose to do such things. All of you chose that. All of you chose to support it. You pay your taxes do you not?!?? The situation is what we make of it. The bombs and destruction that we cause will only inflict disaster upon a peasant people.

no war is a mistake. It is always intentional, and for the personal agenda of someone with a warped mind.

I think it was a mistake too. We may seem to bring democracy to an area, but we can NEVER pull out, if we do, it will quickly revert back to it's original state, or be worse! It may be democratic for a while, but I think the new iraqi police and government may have a lot of trouble keeping the peace if we go.

There are just too many different kinds of people living together, each with different religious beliefs, and each with some men willing to fight and die for what they believe will bring about the type of lifestyle and "peace" they desire. Some are fine with a little more freedom, and others see the western way of life as very indulgent, sinful, or just contrary to what they believe. If we pull out, I think a lot of people will be very glad to see us go. They'll continue to fight their wars as they always have, from the beginning of time, and we really shouldn't get involved or try to bring peace, because we are too different from them, and our idea of peace is not even the same as their idea of peace.

We should bring our troops home to defend our country against the terrorists that would come HERE. We should let them run their country as they like, and well, innocent people will suffer under dictators and terrorists, but we can't really do anything about it. If we try, we'll have to stay there forever to make it last! Because they will never ever forget what the country was like under their rule, and they will always be trying to get it back again.

While Bush could have gotten Bin Laden in Tora Bora, he decided to abandon the hunt for him, even though he was so close. And he put new troops into Iraq. It turns out there were no WMD's and now because of it all, there are SO MANY MORE TERRORISTS THAN THERE HAVE EVER BEEN!
Of course it was a mistake!!! Anyone who says otherwise is very uninformed!!!!
Jamie S, why is it that you believe even though many thousands more terrorists have been formed, that the world is a safer place? Saddam did not sponsor terrorism. We did not have to get involved. Stop repeating the same stuff from Bush that makes absolutely no sense.

Does anyone? Kinda silly question, as nearly everyone in the world knows it was (except a die-hard few).

Nearly everyone in the world knew it was a mistake before we started it, as did more Americans than not -- 48% opposed it, before we started dropping bombs, and 42% supported it, and that's even though most Americans actually believed BushCo's lies about WMD and 9/11.

Why, in heaven's name did you actually vote for that scuzball -- TWICE?!?!

By the way, I do NOT choose to support it. Never have, never will. I have no (real) choice about paying taxes. I had no choice, he did what he did, I don't see how I could have stopped him.

You are right. I feel the same way. But unfortunately thats not it. As you sow, so shall you reap. The whole world is against us now. Everybody thinks that we are murdering, raping, looting innocent in Iraq. America used to be half of world's economy. Now it has 20 % share and it is declining every year. China, India, South / east asians are growing economies. They like to deal with Europe rather than us. Europeans are very clever. They are trying to replace us every where, weather its China or middle east. We are unable to sell our products. dollars has fallen 15 % since Iraq war. Country has 8 trillion debt. Health costs is increasing in phenomenal way. People have to work beyond retirment as they do not have enough savings. Wealthy few are buying private planes for recreation. There are less fund for welfare, education, health every year. Factories are closing. Jobs are being outsourced. Think how would it look like after 10 years if this will continue on like this. 10 years is not that far away. Japan, China, Europe, Arabs are buying our debt gradually...

I believe in it. But then again I have been on the front lines. See, people like you who can sit in your comfortable chairs and watch your news broadcasts get your opionions from avenues that maybe to the right or to the left. The people you want to talk to are the Iraqis and the families who have seen there sons murdered and tortured by a corrupt leader! Having democracy in the region will not only support the war on terror but will bring it to their doorsteps. These people have always hated the values and rights that we live for. They do not believe in freedom and whether we invaded Iraq or not they are determined to kill us! I feel for the Iraq people because I become good friends with some of them. I think its funny how most people feel we are killing the (as you put it) peasant people over there. You have to understand the Iraqis are in no way upset with the US military. They understand mistakes have been made and will be made. The Iraqis support us being there in every way and want democracy. They do support the war on terror and know for a fact that Saddam being gone was a big blow on terrorism. With the internal threats from Saddam on his own people to the sponsorship of terror against western countries, Saddam needed to go.

I just get sick of hearing on most these posts how the Iraqis are worse off with the US being there. This is not true, they have a better life than they could have imagined with Saddam not in power. They no longer fear the government! They do fear the daily attacks against the people but they support and believe the system will work for them.

Clearly a mistake.
Americans were led to believe that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and was a training ground for those responsible for 9/11.
Saddam is an evil bastard - no doubt about that.
But at least we boxed him in and he was an impotent dictator.
Now, we remove him and the other threat (Iran) looms large on the horizon.

President Bush received a history degree from Yale.
I want to know if he really studied history, because it is clear he is making mistakes that could have been avoided had he any sense of historical background on the middle east.

It's indeed a sad state of affairs. In the aftermath of 9/11, people were a lot more willing to believe aggression was a necessary response to terrorism. In my opinion, the Bush administration used this as an excuse to attack Iraq, which is rich in oil and provided a perfect political enemy to keep the American public galvanized.
Therefore, I feel it's more of a crime than a mistake. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Co. had a better idea of what they were getting the country into than they let on. I'm sorry to hear you had faith in them, and we would probably disagree today on what their intentions were.

It's so refreshing to hear someone who voted for Bush twice express the same sentiments as me and the other 59% of Americans who oppose the war.

i attempted to discover a hyperlink to back you up yet there is not one. people who hear to communicate radio and familiarize themselves with data understand that we went in through fact Saddam failed 19 situations to conform with the words of his very own stop fireplace. He persevered to gloat approximately WMD's. He persevered to fund study into WMDs. It had little to do with 9/11. 9/11 purely made people start to ponder whether we wanted to take rogue dictators like Saddam extra heavily. I actual have often questioned what share extra years he became into meant to be allowed to defy the UN
