Some people kill wolves because they are afraid.

They might be afraid because they have lost livestock or barnyard animals to hunting wolves. This is rare, but it does happen.

They might be afraid because of old tales old evil wolves killing children or smaller animals.

They might be afraid because they know if a wold attacks them (again rare) that they would not do very well in the fight.

You might love wolves, but if you have ever seen a pack in the wild up close and you were all that was between them and your two year old child, you might feel differently.

When wolves stay away from humans, they are seldom harmed. When they get up close and personal, many are killed.

You would understand when your livestock, family pets or family members were injured by them. Right now in my are of northern Wisconsin we are having some big problems with wolves. I'm not saying kill them all. But with any problem animal if it is destructive if must be put down. If a normal house pet was out killing neighbors pets or attacking people it would be put to sleep. The same goes for a wolf. Ever see a baby colt tore a part after a wolf got a hold of him? Have you ever carried a beloved pet out of the woods after a pack of wolves killed it? Ever have your kid playing on a swing set outside in your backyard and have a wolf come towards it unafraid of humans? Well I have and it happened to my friends in my area.

Wolves are beautiful animals. They do hold a place in our ecology too. Something has to weed out the sick & old animals. But the dangerous ones that live amongst man got to go.

Because they attack your cattle? With which you make a living?

I'm not saying it's right, but I can definitely understand why someone would do so. If you raise chickens and badgers came around and ate many of your chickens, I bet you'd do something about it that would involve hurting those badgers.
