Any opinions on the risks of dog fighting?

I hear that dog fighting is a very brutal (and, of course, illegal) sport.

Feel free to voice your opinion on this obscene practice.

ITS HORRIBLE AND SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!!!! Its the reason people view breeds like pits as TOO violent, and the death of hundreds of dogs who could have been sweet and loving as a pet in someones home. They are treated terrible in the process and often left to die if they loose.
Its a heartless and pointless act of violence when there are too many other bad things going on in this world. I think the people who allow it should be slowly tortured and beat up for a few days then made to fight some guy they dont know in a nasty dark cellar and see which one dies first, for no reason other than the enjoyment of people watching and gambling.

I think it is absolutely cruel to make dogs fight. It is the carnal nature of the human, but geez, I thought we've evolved past that since like Medeival and Roman Empire times.

I live in an area where dog fights are very prevalent. Every month or so on the news the police are busting up a ring of some sort. I went to the pound once and saw these 14 Pit Bulls, all in the QUARANTINE section awaiting execution, and alot of them were puppies. They never had a chance.

It is cruel and inhumane. These dogs do not want to live their lives like this. What if there was some animal higher up on the chain the humans that kept us in small dark places, fed us gunpowder, to make us fight in a bloodsport?

I think the main risk of dog fighting is that I might find out who the dog owner is. I love any and all dogs. People who use their dogs this are about as cruel as anyone I can think of. If you like fighting,do your own fighting. Don't be a coward and put your dog in that position. If I ever catch anyone doing this,I'll kick their low life a** and let their dog do the watching.

The poor animals have no choice in the matter and if they do not get killed in the ring they are ruined for any thing else. They are so aggressive that there is nothing to do with them other then destroy them.

The people who do this kind of thing to animals should be put through what the dogs are put through and then destroyed as well.

As it is they just get a slap on the wrist and able to set up some where else.

I think it's vial and vicious and I'm glad people get arrest when they get caught. I'm an animal lover and that is just pure cruelty to animals. Those poor animals would never hurt a soul if they were raised by loving caring people instead of monsters who abuse them to the point that they don't know how else to be. If anyone knows anything about dog fights I hope they report it to their local authorites. It's a very evil thing!

To see two dogs fighting naturally is a very frightening and dangerous (if you try to stop it) event. To think that humans can organise it purposefully leaves me totally disgusted. It is illegal and rightfully so and anyone taking any part in it should be banned from owning animals for the rest of their lives.........

it is very barbaric and harmful to the dog,abuse usually runs rampant within this sport,you have to make the dog mean,in turn you get a dog that will fight and usually turns on grown people and children,and the laws are tougher now ,you can be jailed for what your dog does,in the fighting ring and out,anyone that trains a dog to fight should be put in jail or better yet,fight the dog yourself.

Dog Fighting is brutal! the promoters should feel ashamed of themselves for forcing these creatures to fight.

Animals are gentle/ loving by nature when left to themselves. for example: Lions and Tigers and Bears ( oh no' ) aren't mean evil creatures out to kill us humans.....they attack as a survival means or security measure when approached by us in their own territory.

we (humans) aren't suppose to inter-act with certain wild animals in their habitat. we should never go into the jungle and try to "pet" wild cougars, leopards , elephants and then get mad and shoot them to death if they fight us..duh !

But when humans take innocent dogs and tease, taunt,victimize abuse and torture them so they "learn to be fighting killers" ...and we call that a sport ? then we (the dog fight society ) are the real animals.

I think it's disgusting. It's enough that people mistreat animals, but forcing animals to mistreat each other for people's amusement and/or profit is truly sick. I'm not a member of PETA, or even a vegetarian for that matter. But I still think we as a civilized society have to draw the line somewhere.

which kind of dogs the human dogs or the friendly ones???
any way both kinds r bad and dangerous but the second is less risky cause real dogs easily forget and go on with its life.!!!
