very greasy question. gov't didn't give bin laden $500m but they did fund afghani rebels with billions in arms to fight the soviet occupation. this ordeal was initiated by jimmy carter. this was one of the biggest causes of the end of the cold war by making ussr spend themselves to death. result was the collapse of soviet control and the fall of the berlin wall. you may want to read more than some loser's bs opinions.
