You can for as long as they stay small. Try this, it will look great, and it will be much more comfortable in something round when it starts getting bigger.http://www.alienaquariums.com/aquariums/coffee_table.htm

yes. I have two 9 inch reg koi in tank with some 6 inch reg. gold fish (they are actually feeder goldfish). Koi get about 24 -30 inches. Some larger, but even reg goldfish will get 12-18 inches. So eventually you will have to move them to a huge tank or a pond. Just make sure for every inch of fish you have, you have 2 gallons. ex: 5inch goldfish/koi = 10gallon tank. And you can never over filter with goldfish (they produce more waste than any other fish so watch your amonia levels)
Koi and goldfish both like treats too - orange slices, romane lettuce, and peas (frozen thawed out in hot water).

yes you can while they are small but soon they will need to go into a pond
and yes you can keep goldfish and koi together (and they will cross-breed)

i wouldnt reccomend putting them in a tank as they are a pond fish, they will either outgrow your tank or start to grow deformed possibly, you cxould start them off in a tank with good filtration i.e an external filter as all carp are pretty dirty fish and dig everything up,then move them to a pond. as for putting them with other goldfish i would say that they probably would get bullied by the carp and then that would result in a stress related disease occuring ,possibly white spot, so no i dont think its a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it is possible. However they will probably outgrow the tank pretty quickly. They are quite beautiful.
