There was a very strong coalition of forces that went into Iraq. That number has dwindled over time, but they were there. There was no betrayal. First, you have to understand, despite what the libs are saying, we were going into Iraq anyway. Hussein defied the UN resoulutions for several years, and the troops were already comitted prior to 9/11. You just don't launch an operation like that on a whim. Betrayal, don't think so. My guess would be that the countries that pulled out after going in with us, had fufilled their commitments, and their parts in the operations were completed. Why would they stay? My question is, Why didn't the United Nations live up to their commitments in Iraq? It was UN resolutions that Iraq defied, it was UN weapons inspectors that Iraq refused access and kick out. What good is the UN? I believe they are puppets of Muslim states, being used to weaken the United States, in whatever manner they can, be it discrediting us, humiliating us, dragging us into tense and unsolvable situations. Everytime we get involved with anything to do with UN, we look bad to rest of the world. We tried to stay out of the recent thing with Israel and Lebanon, but we just had to let the UN talk us into helping work out a cease fire, then the whole world hates the US, instead of Hezbollah who started the thing in the first place. I say kick the UN out of the States. They are nothing but trouble.
THe first gulf was had no objective the oust Hussein. That was not the mission. The mission was to drive his troops out of his neighbors territory, which he invaded. The decision to oust Hussein derived from the repeated violations of UN resolutions. And was approved by the Congress of the US, repubs and Dems. If you don't like it, them blame all of them, they did it.

The world was united? Which world do you live in? The world is never united, and Bush went to Iraq to get the bad guys. The majority of the Iraqi people wanted us to do so.
