Can a baby develop a intolerance to formula even after being on it for a long time. My daughter is on a special order formula called Neocate Infant. She is 11 months old. She has been on this formula for probably 10 months. In the last month she has started gagging and has a lot of air/gas in her tummy. She has a g-tube and has had a fundoplication. Is it possible she has developed an intolerance to her formula even though she was fine with it before?

Maybe, but more likely is she has developed a blockage/stricture and her formula is being forced up her esophagus. You should have her doctor check it out.

Definetly talk to your doctor about this. You are probably right, this might not be the formula for her anymore. The other person that posted is right the tube may be blocked, or need to be replaced.

Have you talked to her doctor about this? Is she able to have anything other than formula in her tube?

your baby is already 11 months. try giving her 2% milk already. my daughter stopped formula at 11 months as well, but she wouldn't take regular milk so i gave her lots of cheese, yogurt, and orange juice with calcium. as long as she's getting the calcium from somewhere milk can take a hike. there are many people who can't drink milk and as long as they substitute the milk for other calcium rich foods they are great !!!!
