Gender equality is undefined and suggests that the sexes are equal, they are not: no two people are equal.

The intent is to promote equality under the law, or more precisely equitable treatment of all people.

That is if a person can do a job they should get the same pay, but more than that, if they do a better job they should get more pay, regardless of gender, or any other irrational factor, factors that don't influence the logic.

You must be careful we do discriminate against people, the blind cannot drive, the disable can't do certain things, but then again the able cannot do certain things if they can't do them.

Equality goes beyong logic to suggest that a husband and a wife, these two people are the same as two men, or two women, and this is where the logic is illogical. No man has ever given birth to a child and no woman has ever fathered a child.

So is the real term the equitable treatment of people and not the oversimplified confusing term of equality period

Men and women are (and should be) equal in the eyes of the law.

They are NOT identical, and no amount of law will make them so. They're a matched set!

Same-sex marriage is not analogous to interracial marriage, as some claim. Racial discrimination and segregation are illegal. If banning same-sex marriage is illegal discrimination, then why is having separate men's and women's rooms in government buildings not illegal segregation?

And yes, we judge everyone by the same standards, but we do not treat everyone the same. We judged Mother Theresa and Jeffrey Dahmer by the same standard - how they treated others - but we do NOT judge them the same, since their actions were VERY different.

I hear ya, brother!

Equality does not mean 'sameness'.
It is not only a word about 'equaling', it is mental short-hand for the 'energy-quality' of what is being determined, and therefore is a perfectly good word to use when applying law or the procedures of a workplace to potential employees.

The thing is, like many things it is an impossible standard, because there are definate physical and mental differences between people of different genders. For more than 10 years as I drive by construction jobs on a street and see the many women flaggers getting paid as much as the guys using the shovels in the asphalt pit, I am struck by the inequality of the construction company having to be so equal. They can't hire all men, but when they hire women at the same pay, those women get the light work. I can't help but wonder if it isn't the same or if there isn't an equivalent in the super-high white collar world.

each and every individual ought to easily accept a similar clinical care and risk as all and sundry else in this international. we could continually all be allowed a risk to strengthen ourselves and make the international extra perfect, if we werent allowed a similar rights then how might want to we strengthen issues if a particular communities effect is excluded or dwindled. anybody is from a similar race, the human race, particular we are divided through religions, epidermis, nationality, and so on.. yet that doesnt recommend any individuals deserve a lot less of a risk to be equals and given a good risk in this international to achieve fulfillment and do some thing for one yet another. women individuals particularly should be dealt with properly, they're even with each and every thing those who've our youthful little ones and help convey the human race right into a protracted existance. And as well in case you manage a lady unfairly/unequally then you quite have a large concern waiting for you. So in the right, manage women individuals with recognize and equality because you want 2 sides to make some thing, and that some thing as a outcome might want to be extra people. I admit there are those who're smarter and extra perfect at issues yet common individuals are equivalent and not in any respect one individual is extra perfect then the different. someone can do two times as a lot paintings at some thing as some different person does, and nevertheless be equivalent to them because both human beings have their own thanks to do issues and for them it helps them stay alongside of the others.

There can't be equality among people and there never has been.
It is found only in the discourses of famous philosophers that we mention to make our life more affordable.
I have in mind the following, that I have put also in my Q&A page:
Democracy arises out of the notion that those who are equal in any respect are equal in all respects ;
because men are equally free, they claim to be absolutely equal.
Aristotle, Politics, 350 B.C.

Yes, it is equitable treatment the correct term to use.

I think that in order to have equitable treatment of people we must first realize that we are all equal no matter who you are or where you come from. We all have things that we are good at that others are not, and vice versa. In order to be truly equal with our fellow man than we are all going to have to see ourselves in others, and to put some trust, honor, and love in one another.

All people deserve equitable treatment even when not considered 'equals'.

You are correct when you say that no two people are alike, etc., but all people should be considered as as equals because we are all human beings.
