Zambrano - signed a deal in February to make $6.5m this season. He will be eligible again for arbitration this offseason.

Wood - 3-Year worth 32.5M- will make 7M in 2004, 8.5M in 2005 and 11M in 2006- + receives a 3M signing bonus, which is paid in 1M installments each of the first 3 years- + deal includes 2007 Mutual Option worth 13.5M or a 3M buyout, which could value the entire deal up to 43M- + has a complete NO-TRADE clause thru the 2006 season- + the option can be guaranteed w/ 400IP combined in 2005 and 2006(if option becomes guaranteed this way, it becomes a player option, which Wood would be able to void)- + can receives bonuses for Cy Young

Prior - signed deal for 2006 season worth 3.65M on 1/27/06- + he can earn award bonuses, including bonuses for: high finish in voting for MVP and Cy Young, winning a Gold Glove or Silver Slugger and making the All-Star team. Prior will also be arbitration-eligible this offseason.

It's unlikely that Wood will be back, as the Cubs are probably smarter to just pay the buyout. Prior and Zambrano will likely both return, and I think the Cubs will try to avoid arbitration with them, much as they did this year.

Too undesirable the Indians didnt nonetheless have Borowski for the Yankees to get. Chaos, you forgot Damaso Marte. despite the fact that he has had a reliable 3 hundred and sixty 5 days as much as now, he's a ticking time-bomb. the only blessing for the Yanks is the Rays nonetheless have Choate and Benoit and seem to nonetheless think of they are in a position to make significant League setup met out of them.despite handed off to Howell and Wheeler? No contender interior the AL, has an entire Pen, with the exception possibly of Texas. Tampa and the Yanks have the closer, with suspect set-up. The White Sox and Twins are the alternative (despite the fact that Capps). The Angels and Tigers do no longer in all probability have the two. Texas could have the suitable Pen, wood could desire to have been a reliable in good shape there as he's a Texas guy , yet in all probability fees too plenty. (word I go away out Boston as a contendor?)

The Cubs need to dump Wood and Prior for sure. The Cubs also need a new closer that can actually get saves. Demptser just isn't good enough. Cubs fans need to realize that it will take a few years to rebuild because there is a lot of work to be done.

Too much and too long as far as Prior and Wood. Zambrano has to be the most frustrated pitcher in all of mlb cuz he sure doesn't belong with such a horrible team. Has way to much talent for that.

Kerry Wood
3 years/$32.5M (2004-06), plus $13.5M 2007 option
(no buyout)

Carlos Zambrano p
1 year/$6.5M (2006)

1 year/$3.65M (2006), plus incentives

so really they're stuck with wood unless, he doesnt pick up the option, but if i were him i would get paid 13.5 million dollars for being injuried

I hope for the Cubs' sake that Prior's and Wood's contracts are done.
