I've a friend. She's a girl and she's my best friend i ever had.But now she's in grief. Its because she is not so good in her studies. 2 yrs. back she used to be a topper but now she is far behind. She gets depressed too easily. She is my best friend and i can never see her sad.Though i'm good in studies, and i want to help her. But it seems that even my help would not change her appreciably. She's asking for advice from me as a friend.
Plz tell me what should i say to her and also tell me how can i help her? in what way?

encourage her to spend more time studying. Celebrate successes and learn from mistakes. Talk about the future, don't dwell on the past.

Ab---it does seem like your friend is suffering from depression--but I am not a doctor...I haven't seen her, nor are you a doctor either. She might really need to see the school psychologist. ....there may be other things that are happening at home that are influencing her, it might be something else. She needs to talk to someone that has the ability, skill and knowledge to get her back on track. You can help her study--but it sounds like it needs to be on a regular basis. Im not sure if you both are in the same classes any more or not...and this would put more pressure on you---your time---if you both are not.

Recommending her to see a councelor might be very touchie...since she might not truly understand that it isn't a big deal to see one...that they can help if she looks for it...she may even have to see a psychiatrist. I don't know. You can attempt to table it---tell her that it might be a good thing..and tell her that you are more than willing to go with her ( and sit in the waiting area...or just drop her off and pick her up) and to keep her visits confidential.

Good luck!!

Your dear best friend is living a difficult time. I guess that something depresses her. Your friendship is quite important and necessary for her. Keep on giving her love and comprehension, be very patient. She also needs to visit a good Counselor, to know what the problem is. Good luck!

Encourage her..u say u r good...then help her make it more fun for her..like always invite her over to revise..put little tests on each other...convince her that if she relaxes it will happen for her..stress is blocking her thinking and absorbing info she needs
