Hmmm...Well you could do the cardboard star idea...

Or

You could make carboard rounds, and cover with tin foil for "mirrors", cover papertowel tubes with foil, and decorate "cardboard" stars with white paint and glitter, and place small candles at the base for effect. (Make the "mirror" at least 8 -10 inches accross.) You can do one star on each "mirror" or three of different sizes or whatever...

Or

You can use glass bowls of different shapes and sizes with star shaped floating candles

Or

You can gather milk cartons, cut off tops, spray paint metalic colors, cut star designs in them, and use as candle holders.

Or

Consider star shaped balloons. The reason I say this is because you can buy or rent a helium tank (for large parties such as yours) and the balloons and make attractive centerpieces. (That's what I did for my wedding instead of flowers)

Centerpiece bottom use foam either green floral or use the white styrofoam. U can sometimes get this at Wal-Mart but I would go to a specialty craft store like Micheal's or Hobby Lobby. They have any size u could want. If the size they have is too big u can cut them down or too small u can put two together. Use shiny material or paper( like pre-cut wrapping or regular wrapping paper) Check your supplies or ask around to different members if u don't have too much money to buy with. U can cut stars out of cardboard or construction paper and use the glitter by all means. Get some of those long streamers on a stick or make. Get enough glue. Happy creating and good luck!

How about the 3D stars we made in school out of drinking straws. Can be made any size, and then sprayed with colour. Full size ones are the size of a basketball.
Great because they will not block the view of people actoss the table from each other, light, and can be hung after - so good sale item. Could even hang a small ornament in the centre to gussy it up.
