actually what you are hearing is a ad or banner somewhat on the page that has sound in it. really anoying the only thing you can do is turn your speakers off.

Sounds like you have a pop up blocker or a spyware blocker program like Pest Patrol. I know with Pest Patrol when a cookie is dropped it makes a sound. great program - annoying sound
