Believe it or not, Thrift Stores. If you search hard enough you can find great clothing that has barely been worn. Also a salvage store where they sell things that were stored in a warehouse that caught fire, etc. The clothes only need to be washed and they are in great shape. If you live in a larger city (L.A., New York), find a celebrity thrift store. They recycle celebrity's clothing at bargain prices.

I would agree that Marshalls is great as well as TJ Maxx and Loehmans. Different locations have different inventories (some better than others)

My absolute favorite is Century 21 in NYC - designer clothing off the runway for less than 1/2 the price.

Try some resale shops that specialize in young adult clothing. Many times, you will find that they look for designer clothes and accessories in excellent used condition. There is also a website that allows you to rent designer handbags kind of like Netflix.

Out of the paycheck you get put a bit of money aside at a time depending on what you can put aside. When you get enough money go out and go shopping.

Also go to places like JCPENNY's and fashion bug or whatever, the places in malls or the such that usually have big percentages off sales. I went into fashion bug the other day and got 30% off plus another 30% with a scratch off card deal they had going on :)

Ever try the Thrift Store? You can find shirts that are vintage and some great sweaters sometimes. You just have to look a lot but the price is really right.

My mother in law works in a church thrift shop in an upper-class area - you'd be amazed at some of the stuff she has brought home to me - Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, all that. And nearly brand new.

Try to find a place like that, you'd be amazed at what you might find - for like a $1.
