There was this wonderful scene in a Saturday Night Live program a few years ago. It was a spoof on the program Jepardy and had an Alex Trebek character and one like Sean Connery. The question choices were few and Trebek asked Connery for the next one. Connery said, "The penis mightier". Trebek responded in good form and corrected, "The pen is mightier". The point of the game was to make a question that the supplied statement answers, so Connery said, "Whatever, the question is, does it work?"

As far as too old--the question is, does it work. I've know active folk well above twice your age range.

That's just a gay male thing.
I've seen plenty of hot 30-40 yr old lesbians in the clubs. Not that I frequent them all that much anymore since I've been partnered for ten years. But I do go occassionally with friends or for events.

I'm already conscious of my age in a "club" and i'm 28.

I live in a college town, so we drive to bars away from all the "kids". Every once in a while i'm forced into a "club" and I feel like uncle-creepy.

Anyone hanging out with kids in a club beyond age 30 is probably a loser.

I would personally make a distinction between "club" and "bar". Personally, I don't like clubs as much now, and I'm still pretty young. That said, I think I'd find it a little more peculiar to see a 40 year old at a club than a bar, but whatever. There's a difference between friendly and creepy, and as long as you see that line and respect it, I say welcome.

There is no "Too old" in anyone's book. That is a silly notion that changes with the "thinkee's" age, isn't it? As one approaches 30, suddenly the 'Dead at 30" becomes "dead at 40" and so on. I am older than dirt, and trust me, I am not dead, or close to it for that matter.

It is always okay to go out and have a drink. But is amazing to age gracefully and realize the Cognac at home is better than a beer at a bar!

My neighbor is 52 years young and still going to bar and a very catchy guy and attractive. So maybe around 62,i think.

If you stay in shape you can look fine for many more years than that.
Go to the gym,eat right, see your Doctor regular, especially if you need skin smoothening done, get a chemical tan.
etc etc

You have Twinks and Daddys so all ages work, it is just a matter of the person looking finding the other person looking for them!!
