We have a standard fridge freezer.We noticed the fridge was reading too warm and stopped working.When we opened the freezer door it started working again,but when we closed it it stoped.

my guess is either your setting is too low, or your thermostate( right word? the device that measures the temperature inside and activates the freezer if necessary...) is faulty. with any luck it is just misadjusted and you can achieve the temperature you want by setting a lower (colder) one. otherwise you have to replace it
or the whole fridge wich may be cheaper

read ur question again..its very confusing. anyhow ur fridge gets too hot....it must be sitting in a tight corner..if its too hot..put a fan behind , it will provide air and cool the compressor down..should get OK..try it.

There are switches in the molding, they go bad at ttimes. It sounds like yours is doing the opposite of what it is supposed to.
