McDonald's was one of my first jobs in high school, and I do think you learn a lot working in fast food. You deal with people of every class, you have to learn to be fast, and often you get to work with money (if you work a register). When I applied at a bank years later, I omitted the fact that I had worked at McD's (because it had been so long ago), but it came up in the interview. I was told that it was actually a determining factor in hiring me, because I had the cash handling experience, as well as working with the public.
So, I guess it couldn't hurt!

Yes and No -- It depends on what you learn.

Yes, if you learn responsibility and how to deal with the public.

No, if you learn that substandard performance and bad attitudes are acceptable in the workplace.

In many areas, TN for one, McDonald's has become the epitome of bad service. Most of the employees dress haphazardly, present a "don't care" attitude, and lack proper manners.

Yes. You get experience with handling
cash and you also develop customer service skills. These skills will transfer to better paying jobs in the future.

Good luck!
