Donating the magazines to your local library or high school would be agreat way to helpthose organizations. If you're looking to make a profit, try selling them on eBay or some other auction site--you could probably get a lot of money, especially for the older issues.

Donate to the library - or, you can donate them to a Goodwill or Salvation Army - when I was a theatre major, we were required to make collages, find inspiration for costumes, etc. ALL the time and needed magazines for cheap, and National Geographics are the best. Of course, you could also make a collage yourself. :)

We take all of our old magazines to the local library. They have a box near the door that they put them in and anyone that looks in the box can take whichever magazines they want. National Geographics are interesting enough that it doesn't matter how old they are, so you might want to try that. :)

Sell them on Ebay!! Ask Yahoo stated just today that the first item to actually SELL on Ebay was a BROKEN pointer (those red light things). Anyway, it sold for $14!!! Come on! Surely you can sell something that might be old but NOT broken!!

Teachers at schools might like them. I was a teacher, and used to cut out photos from everywhere (especially calendars), and put them on the walls of my classroom. Seriously, try teachers. As teachers, they can also think up several other good uses for the students to use. Teachers are the smartest people in the world, you know.

Collect them, there could be value and history in them maybe 20, 30, or 50 years from now.

That depends on how well they are preserved. If they are in good shape, donate them to your local library. If they are bad, donate them to your local recycle bin. Both will be pleased !
