I have been working at a job for a little over nine months. Since I have been here, I have noticed that the door is constantly swinging. I have been moved to differant positions since I have been here, and now all of a sudden they decided they were going to switch me again. Well since this has happend I have not done anything at my desk for a week now. Just asked if i will be trained in my new "so called" position and they said that everythingis on hold. I show up to work every day and i know that I am a hard worker. Opinion's do you think that I am going to get fired. And if so why is it they are not doing anything? Do you think that they are waiting for me to resigns so they don't pay unemployment? Need help please. looking for answers, I will be checking as I have nothing to do.

Most likely you work for a screwy company. Even if they aren't planning to force you out, I would recommend a more stable job at another company.

If they have already hired/put someone in your previous position and now they don't have anything for you to do, I'd prepare myself for an exit. However, if you don't want to leave, I would suggest you take some personal initiative and FIND some work to add value to the company. If the company is as out of sorts as your question seems to suggest it is, this could be a great opportunity for you to make yourself even more valuable to the company and then you could end up not just getting to stay but you might just work yourself into a promotion. Keeping asking for assignments. If none are given to you, don't just sit around (that gives them a reason for letting you go) instead just start doing some work that needs to be done. Stretch yourself, doing something that's a bit over your head. Create a business case proposal, help the company get some new business, help them collect some money that's due them, start calling existing customers "just to check in" with them and see how things are going with your company's products or services, and see if the customer could use more. Find something to do that either makes the company money or saves them money. Don't just sit at your desk.

I don't know really, but maybe all the shuffling around is a result of other employees leaving and they are just trying to put you where you are most needed but that keeps changing. And maybe they don't want to train you in that position if they think they may have to move you again, maybe that's why "everything is on hold"......I think you should talk to your boss and see what is going on. Tell him or her that you are confused about what is going on and would just like to know when he or she thinks you might be in a permanent situation.

If I were in your position, I'd start looking for employment elsewhere. It does sound kind of fishy as to what they're doing to you. And I know a lot of employers do stuff like that because they don't want to pay unemployment.

I say stay as long as you can until they fire you, just don't give them a reason to fire you. If you must act like your doing work, so it seems like your working and they can't say that your not working. I would also update my resume and start looking for through the want ads. I would keep asking if there going to train me.

When I was at a telemarketing job and I new they were going to fire me, I stayed until they fire me to pick up some cash until they let me go.

Final words, stay until they let you go and update your resume and begin looking for a new job.

I think I would have been looking for a new company a long time ago. Doesn't sound like a very stable place of employment.

Donot focus on the company or the job but focus on YOU - What do you want from life, from your environment and career. Use the time in hand to either search for more fulfilling job or enhance your knowledge / qualification in preparation for tomorrow.

I really don't know what they are up to, I would ask others if I could help them, do some typing or whatever for them. Don't quit you don't want to lose the unemployment.

As long as you're getting paid, I don't see the problem. Is that not why you're there? If you're not doing work, I suppose from an aesthetic point of view, it's a bonus. Stay positive.

Jobs are getting harder to come by these days, you have one, don't quit. Just do what you are assigned if they decide they are going to fire you then you win, because they have to pay you unemployment. Just don't do anything fulish that would jepardize your chances at unemployment.
