In a nutshell...spend some time and do it manually.

If you visit the search engine in question and then scroll to the bottom of the page, they all have some kind of "submit to this site" option...except google, which you can do here:

http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Don't be tempted to buy (or use a trial of) one of those automated submitting software thingys - as many of the search engines mark you down because of it.

I know its laborious doing it manually, but its the best way and your couple of hours of work will certainly pay off in the end...

Download a free programme called WEB CEO its free, it will also help you optimize your site befor you submit it to search engines.
You have full control over which search engines you submit to.
it will also check your rankings on your chosen engines and re submit your site automatically.
