Racoons keep pooping on our roof....alot--I removed half a garbage bag worth off today. No food to attract them, they climb the tree and poop there...how do I get them to STOP?

Sounds like you have an old tree overhanging your roof which is giving to raccoons a highway to your roof. If the tree is very old, chances are very good that the raccoons are denning in a hollow out portion of the same tree. Remove the overhanging branches and/or the tree, and you will remove the opportunity for the raccoons to access your roof. In either case, at least the branches should be removed. If they are close enough to the roof for the raccoons to use it, the branches are also close enough to the roof to do damage to your shingles when the wind blows them against the shingles.
Another option is to hire the services of a "critter getter" type of business. These businesses are common and can be found in the yellow pages under pest control or wildlife removal. They are specially licensed wildlife trappers who are required to live trap critters and move them unharmed to isolated rural areas. They are very effective and are not terribly expensive.

If you have a "Do-It-Yourself Pest Control" store near you, get some "Red Fox" urine. Sprinkle some on the roof. I guarantee it will keep them away. Works wonders on keeping the squirrels out the attics.

urine from anything wont make coons leave pure ammonia.. loud music.. they just get acclimated to the environment.. ask any professional or someone that has been infested.... once I coon odor is there they will brave back and look and over come fox perfume.. they will wait it out to get to that coon scent.... it doesn't work .. look it up . you cant board up a soffit entry.. and they will tera thru shingles.. and plywood to get to an old den in an attic.. will tear a hole in a new roof. and thru plywood . while you try to sleep.. urine does not work.. ask a professional.... im not but I learned
