When my sister was about 12 she kept having a recurring dream that she was on fire, she thought nothing of it really and eventually they went away. Now she is 31 and has a daughter of 6 who recently woke up from a bad dream called out and of course my sister went straight to her and asked what was the matter and she answered - I dreamt you were burning Mommy!
Does anyone know what this means as it is really freaking my sister out! It's stranger than fiction! I have to admit, when she told me my blood ran cold!!
Can anyone help? No smart alec answers please!

Hi >
No I would dream of giving you a "smart alec" answer.
The bottom line is that I really do not know, and I doubt if any really definitive answer is available out there.
Yet for a similarity, I often dreamed, as a child, of falling, and now my Sister has the sme now & then.
OK, I understand that we are borne of three basic fears, of which a baby will be upset somewhat.
Loud noises, hunger, and falling.
The rest we seem to make up as we go along.
I still dream of falling off something, although I'm 50.
Most of the rest, I seem to of disposed of, being apparitions.
Yet I agree, why does my Sister & Mother have the same nocturnal worries?
I look forward to your answers.

Bob

First of all, Mother and Daughter have some sort of special kind of relationship even personalities. It is no surprise that she may have fear like you have. As for dreams, it is also the same.

Dreams come from out personalities. In her case, you have to find out why she had dream about fire. She could have fear about something in her childhood. Passing the story to her child could also be possible that her child will dream about that. Has she talked similar thing about fire to her daughter? If so, that triggered the dream.

I won't worry if it is only a one time thing. Coincidence happens, but if the daughter keeps having dream about what mom dreamed before. They may be in some sort of "X files". It is unknown and bizarre in many ways. However, there are things that we can't explain because our subconscious mind are tricky and God created us the way they are. only God knows why.

However, I found most of the dreams explainable.

the body allows important messages from the unconcious mind via a dream, fire represents temperance, passion anger and transition dependent on how you dream it. as in the case of being on fire, this mostly points to your temper getting out of control....which i dont think is the case here but rather some issue or situation that burns in your sister deep inside.....her daughter obviously being her flesh and blood can distinguish her feelings or mood quite easily....thus dreaming that her mum is on fire.....was all your family life well when you little or did your sister ever have reason to feel mistreated, stressed or vunerable? this is mostly the cause of these types of dreams and the only way to stop the dream is to face its reality changing its perspective which should solve the problem.....have been interpreting dreams for over ten years now....i truly hope it helps you!

Quite often dreams don't mean what you think they mean, (which i think should be reassuring in this case) but i recommend getting hold of a book that can interpret dreams as this will put your mind, & your sisters at ease, and help your sister to understand what this dream could mean, it cant hurt to read up on anyway & gain a better understanding of dreams, good luck, x

THIS VERY SIMILAR THING HAPPENED TO ME:ever since I was little I always dreamed of getting shot most of the time it was one bullet in my stomach as I got older it became more traffic and gruesome I haven't had any nightmares lately but now others are saying that they been having dreams of me being in riots and fights and me dying ..
now with fire I suggest that this be taken literally to a certain extent not saying you sis house catch on fire but that she should be very careful that suggest danger in the near future.. when you want someone to give you info on a dream its best to give as much detail as possible its the little details that count hope this help a little

I think that fire is a symbol of judgement. I think it is somewhat of a common dream symbol like falling or being naked. Type dreams into your search engine and see where it takes you. I know that there is a dream dictionary you can use over the internet.

occassionally a child will pick up on a conversation, between adults, and convince them that they have had a similar experience, most likely this is the case in your sisters, nightmare seemingly repeating itself through her daughter.
one should seriously consider, talking of bad dreams, or other bad experiences, when small children, are not in earshot.

yeah, drowning fire, flying, these are all pretty common. i have the most unfortunate tendency to dream about being naked in a public place. not nice. also those dreams where your legs go all tiff and you run dead slow...iget a lot of them...nasty. but just to be on the safe side, take precausions. best not to tempt fate
