That is a billion dollar question. Possible spam reduction methods:
- keep work and private mail boxes seperate
- change your private mail address
- keep one email address for home only and the other for friends, acquaintances, etc.
- refrain from giving out unnecessary contact address, e.g. telephone numbers, addresses, email address
- avoid subscribing to "free" services that are not world reknown, e.g. win xxx for free tickets
- try spam filters, Bayesian filters
- deduction of source of spam, e.g. you've never e-subscribed to x, soon after, you get all kinds of unsolicited email

It is possible to have spam free emails. But once a usually illegal advertiser gets hold of email address, spam is likely to be continuous, since there are few to no regulatory bodies that demand all companies with registered electonic means to be checked on legal business methods.

11 and 12 a day isn't bad.

Set up filters if you're using Outlook/Outlook Express or some other mail client to help clear up your inbox a bit.

Spam happens. It's a nuicence, but with a little tweaking you can make it tolerable.
