"Just because I'm easy, don't think I'm naive"?

Thats one of the lyrics in the Ani Defranco song, "Outta me, Onto You." Its a huge stereotype. While I know that alot of women sleep with multiple partners because of low self esteem issues and other things like that, there are women who make the conscious decision to sleep with many men, simply because that is what they want to do.

It brings up a question for me, why do people insist on believing and thinking that just because a woman chooses to sleep with many men, or be "easy" that means she is also stupid or naive?

I guess society in general has the belief that a smart person wants to live the dream of girl meets boy, falls in love, gets married, has two kids and live happily ever after. They don't stop to think that some people actually want to have excitement or fun in their lives and prefer to date different people than just stick to one.

If she is sleeping with multiple partners, then she probably don't stay with them long enough to get their name, so WHY WOULD SHE CARE what they think of her anyway? Unless she is sleeping around just to prove something ...

----------edit--------------
On the other hand, If it is society's opinons that we are discussing, well, if these women think that what they are doing is right, then they shouldn't care about the opinions of society, either, unless they are sleeping around just to prove something.

I don't see how most people would find out that she was sleeping around, anyway, unless she told them -- which also imples that she had something to prove.

If she is worried about what society thinks of her, then that seems to imply that she is feeling guilty about her behavior; so perhaps she should stop doing it if it makes her feel bad about herself.

I think its definately a double standard. Men don't seem to be held to the same scrutiny. Personally, I think that this is a dangerous time for anyone to be "easy".

often that's all that men want. I mean personally if I could just have sex with a girl and not have to see her ever again i would jump at it especailly if she's hot.....some wemon play this head game with men like they like them but all they want to do is have sex........and that's great as long as it's expressed
