New York banned smoking in public places, and is considering banning restaurants from using/serving trans fats.

For the public good, what should they ban next?

Might as well ban alcohol, too. Oh wait, they already tried that ... and the people revolted! :)

I would also ban mullets ... bad hairstyles in general.

Oh, and I would ban those pants that hang down around a guys knees ... I don't want to see their boxers ... or worse (ol' plumber's behind).

And I saw on the t.v. that the 80s styles might be making a comeback ... I would have to ban big hair, legwarmers, stretch pants and oversize sweaters ... all for the public good!

They should ban New York. It is, after all the ultimate solution to all of New York's ills. But hey- lets just ban people from the face of the earth and then there will be no humans to disrupt whatever eco-system environmentalists are all concerned about this week.
Why stop there? Let's just destroy the universe and then we'll have nothing at all to be concerned about regarding health issues, environmental issues or whether abortion should be legal or not. We could just........ self abort.

of coarse I'm being sarcastic to illustrate my point

For the public good, they should ban all the idiots out there who can't find anything to do but sit around and wonder what we should ban next for the public good.

I'd ban banning stuff. Next thing you know, eating table salt will be banned. Sodium is bad for you too, lets ban that. Lets ban diet sodas because they are unhealthy if you drink 2 or 3 bottles a day. Lets ban bottled water because it doesn't have flouride which promotes tooth decay.

I think banning the trans fats is going too far.

I think they should ban the smoking though, second hand smoke is harmful for public health.

Let us simply ban the individuals right to choose. Case Closed!

I would ban just the smoking
Most other things just make sure people are educated on what can happen then let them make their own decisions.
This is still a free country isn't it?
