A century from now would be very interesting. We'll have largely run out of oil by then, although coal & natural gas reserves would still be there. Many of today's nascent technologies (like space travel or renewable energy) will have matured by then. Medicine and computing will have made huge advances. Many present-day gov't programs like Social Security & Medicare _will_ have imploded by then. (It is only a matter of time, seriously.)

Both the technology and culture will probably be fairly alien--imagine taking a person from 1906 and plopping them down today. They would need to have explained so many things that we take for granted: TV, computers, radio, flying, cell phones, modern electricity, microwave ovens, gov't welfare programs, etc. Not to mention all the history of the 20th century. Jumping ahead 1 century would be at least as much of a future shock.

Life would likely be very different from today. Some things would certainly be much better, and some could well be much worse. But for better or for worse, I for one hope to see it all. :-)

at first i would be surprised to see all the changes that might have happened since i was asleep, but then id realise what about all the people i knew back then, are they still alive or dead, and i'd feel sad about that alot. plus at the same time it be nice to see how far the world has advanced, for the better i hope, if not i would hate to have been woken up to see everything gone to waste because the country was in some sort of war and everything got destroyed. So basically i would have mixed opinions about this situation, it would all depend on how much the world has changes and did it change for the better or worse.

That is a really good question.
Looking iinto past ancient civilizations in certain ways they are more advanced than we are today.
If I woke up in 100 years, All the science would probably be more advanced.
I don't know what kinda gadgets they would have, Just think Futurama!
But their speituality would be shot.
All the ancient culters were more in tune with their own bodies.
While we concentrate on the how. They concentrate on the why.
Ex: Life
We all wonder where we come from, but modern science is peicing together how our body works. What makes us tick.
They concentrated on who put us here and why.
In this we advance scientifically while we decline spiritually.

We always tend to think about how we will be traveling space by then and discovery new planets and all. Yet we've made such slow progress in that area compared to Computer Technology and such. Mostly, I predict that all the countries as we know them, will have passed away and evolved into something different. Hopefully, something better, but not necessarily. Good and Evil will always be struggling against each other, just with cooler weapons.

I would def be in shock and as much as would like to think things would be advanced, i feel that it will be worse. there are so many things going on like global warming and other things, so technology isn't always the best.

I would hope in a century I would be in a much better place like heaven. it is as beatiful to me as I could possibly dream, and well I believe also dreams do come true!!

Hopefully, not a world synonymous with "1984" but the high point would be George Bush would no longer be in charge!

Wouldn't it be cool to awaken to George Jetson's world of flying car routes and interplanetary travel?

I think technologically we will be very very advanced. But we will only be slaves to that technology.

Ask yourself this: Why is it that we are now working more than our parents when technology was supposed to usher in the age of "leisure".

I personally don't think the future looks that bright.

Good hypothetical Q. Because of the nature of the incident and being me for how I am, I'd go back to sleep for another hundred years.
