what's better; having big time plans for the future and a heartache if they collapse or just go with the flow (which makes me depressed 'cause there's no sense of direction & stability)

Take it easy. Making big plans, and putting all your anticipation, hope, and expectations on that desired for thing......just sets you up for BIG hurt later.

Just be easy......flow like the breeze. Take it a DAY at a time. Enjoy every new day like it will be your last. And don't think about tomorrow, because today is just great.

I am in a relationship with a new guy. I am awaiting a divorce, just filed the papers two months ago. This new guy is all over me, proposing marriage, talking about the future, and just really wanting for all these plans............

I told him that honestly, I can't do the 'future' thing right now. I am happy with him, so I stay with him. And as long as I remain happy, I will be there. There's no need to leave, or stray, etc. I want to just take it a day at a time, and be happy for as long as I can be. If it's two days, or if it turns out to be 20 years, or for my lifetime.........it's great. But it will happen a day at a time. Each day has more than enough going on anyway.

Stop hoping. You set yourself up for disappointment. Just enjoy it for WHAT IT IS. Appreciate it for WHAT IT IS. If "IT" isn't enough, then that person is probably not the one for you, and hoping for and planning a future isn't a guarantee that they will magically evolve into what you want or need.

Take it easy. Be happy. =)

Plans are of three durations. Short-term plans, like what to do for this week or month. Medium-term plans, like what to do for the next six months to a year. And, long-term plans, like what to accomplish in a year or more years. It's a good idea to make all three types of plans, and by flexible to adjust for the unplanned surprises that may arise, some may be pleasant, some not. Even pleasant surprises may need a change in planning. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, no matter how much you plan, DON'T FORGET TO LIVE IN THE MOMENT. Living for the future can really take away all the beauty that exists in all the little things that may not be planned but bring richness to life. And, while living in the moment, try spontanous things too, otherwise plans may feel stifling. Smell a rose today and plan for your retirement tomorrow. How's that?

I believe it's better to make plans and no matter what comes your way do not let anything distract you from it.Even if you get disappointed with the results you live, you learn and you try again.Trust me I've learned the hard way and I truly regret letting my circumstances get me down to the point where you are.Depressed with no sense of direction or any kind of stability.Life knocks you down but you have to find a way to get back up only you can do it and no one else.Say a prayer give it to God and he'll work it out for you.Just have a little faith and be blessed.

I heard a saying that really stuck with me....You gotta have a plan, even if it's a bad one, because at least you know where you're going.

So I think you need a Plan A and a Plan B and sometimes a Plan C depending on the issue.

Then you know where you're going if you win, change, or fail.

If you want a sense of direction and stability, go outside face East and feel the firmness of the Earth. If you want a life, get involved.

I go with the flow; in fact, I'm usually prepared for the worst - and then, when things go well, I am pleasantly surprised. It doesn't hurt, however, to have a general idea of what you want out of life.

It works better if you always have a plan and are working towards it whether it be a big or small plan. Yes, you will be disappointed now and then but that is life.

My philosophy is "Hope for the best and plan for the worst. Live in the present. "
