There has never been a black or African American President of the United States. I believe there was once a black candidate but there has definitely never been a black President. I sometimes wonder if their ever will be. There has been talk about a couple of African Americans running in the next Presidential Elections.

Black Candidates - 1 - Reverend Jesse Jackson
Black Presidents - NO - not yet. I hear Barrack Obama has a good shot at running in the future - he's a really good speaker and politician, and he's young.
I don't see any other black presidential candidates on the horizon.
We may see our first female president in the near future - possibly as soon as 2008 - with Hillary Clinton the front runner for the Democratic party, and a possible bid by Condoleza Rice for the Republican party - either one would make a good choice.
Good luck understanding our politics - they're not as complicated as yours, but they are a lot of fun to watch (all the names and childish games, the mistakes, the crap!)

HELL NO!!!! There is ABSOLUTELY no way in HELL the United States Government would let a Black man or Black woman run for President! There's no way in hell that the government would allow anyone else of any other race to run for President either! ALL of the Presidents of the United States have been AND STILL ARE White! They are willing to keep it that way! EVEN if there WAS a Black President, he or she would be assassinated THE VERY NEXT DAY!!!!

No, not yet.
There have been black candidates (Jesse Jackson among the most recent), but no black candidates have ever earned the nomination of a major party.
Hopefully we will have one soon...:) Same goes for a woman president -- closest that's ever come is a woman vice-president candidate.

No Presidents. George Washington Carver was the First black man to ever run for the office. Additionally Jesse Jackson has run three times and Al Sharpton twice.

There were several green presidents back in the early to mid 1940's, but never a black president. It is rumored that a lavender president may possibly run in the next election.

No black presidents or candidates as far as I know. Jesse Jackson came close one time to being a candidate if I'm not mistaken.

Who knows. May be if you trace back all the president's lineage, you might find (like Peter Griffin did in Family Guy) that one of their ancestor is black!
Definately a good question for a research project.
