Trade it in for an M3 (or an M5 if you can afford it) with SMG - with all the complexities mentioned by the other posters - simply not worth the cost of upgrading.

BMW is not selling the 2007 M3 in anticipation for the 2008 M3 with the 400 HP engine. Maybe you can find a SMG 2006 M3 at a discount. Good luck to you.

It is possible. But very expensive. The dealership will tell you that buying a used bmw will cost the same for the conversion to a SMG. Its not worth it. save up and actually buy an M3 if you really like one.

It's possible but a pain in the a$$ and expensive. You're better off dumping your car and get another one with SMG

possible, but not easy or cheap.

first you need to research the differences between the two systems (mechanical, computer, and physical size and shape), then you will have to switch out every single part that is involved.

i havent tried on your car, but i did it once on one of my old ones, and it took a ton of money and time, and even when it was done, it didnt really work the way it would have had i bought it new that way.

good luck!
