You'd need to know the density of sand... let me try and find it...

Okay, I found a site with densities, which I've converted to lbs. per gallon.

Sand, wet = 16 lbs
Sand, wet, packed = 17 lbs.
Sand, dry = 13 lbs.
Sand, loose = 12 lbs.
Sand, rammed = 14 lbs.
Sand, water filled = 16 lbs.
