My Yahoo mail account receives over 200 bulk-spam emails a day, why? It is the only account that I receive this amount of spam. My AOL accounts all together, 7 of them, do not receive this kind of spam. I have several other accounts that don't receiver spam, why Yahoo. I would like to switch to Yahoo as my primary Internet provider, but only if I can resolve this spam problem.

Most of the times people will sit in chat rooms and write down your screen name and send you spam that way. That's why I made a new yahoo email. I've never gone to any chat rooms on that screen name and I've never signed up for anything on it either. And I've never gotten even one spam email.

Hi I have Yahoo and have the same problems it seems like everyone can get access to your yahoo email address and send you emails. All spam emails are put in the spam folder but it is a bit of a pain when you have to delete them all

Stop signing up for stuff using your real email address. If they're not mainstream like Amazon or Ebay they'll sale your address and a spammer can buy thousands of them for a few dollars. I've had a yahoo address for 8 years now and I've never gotten even 1 spam email.

Everyplace you post your email, you have the chance to get on the lists. You put that address someplace that it got picked up and that is not Yahoo's fault. It would have happened if you were using a different account too.

If the bulk filter is catching them, just don't worry about it so much. They are not in your way. You can set the options to auto-delete them if it really bothers you.

if you provide your email address when you visit any website you could be susceptible to getting junk mail...if you get unsolicited mail DONT open it, it you do you will get even MORE unsolicited mail!!! Mine got so bombarded that I got a new email address and I never provide it when visiting sites, if I sign up for something I use the old address which is already getting spam anyway and save the new one for my daily exchanges with friends and family or companies which I want to get things from.

It doesnt matter if you get 1000 bulk emails a day all you have to do is click the Empty button. And bulk emails do not count against you so what's the worry about?
