Doesn't hope make suffering possible? If there is no hope that your pain will cease, that you will get what you want, isn't this when the pain finally goes away, and isn't this also when you truly die, when your dreams have died?

Is this not the paradox of life? Is this not why life seems like the true hell, and the hopelessness of hell can never be as horrible as the pain of life?

Dude, you're confusing yourself.

Having hope guarantees nothing. It's a wish full thinking trait inherent in mankind.

I read your Q's several times and still don't get the connection between hope and suffering. Suffering is a different item which need to be asked about separately. What connection you're stating it with hope is tenuous.

There can be suffering when hope is gone by the fact the you suffer because the hope is gone. You can hate the fact that all hope is gone and that can make you suffer even more so then anything else

Thou hast got to be shitting me--What an optimist thou art! Knoweth ye not that engraved upon the gates of hell are the words "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here"? and Hell is where suffering is eternal.

More to add to the paradox... when there's no pain, there's no hope. Extreme positive thinking has the risk of not minding the problems that may exist without you noticing them.

all hope is gone when death occurs. All hope of ending pain while resuming meaningful life is impossible. Pain and suffering is part of life and learning.
