Is Gai Better than Kakashi? What is their win lose streak?

I've seen all the episodes still waiting on 202 to be uploaded.. so i got bored and got back to episode 22 which i havent really seen completely.. Gai mentions 49 to 1.. but who beat who?

Reply to third answer. Sasuke is not fully accustomed to the sharingan which makes sense because that was his actual first attempt after the fight with Haku. in Episode 133-135 Sasuke's sharingan lvld up which gave him the ability narutos fast undetectable movements (thanks to the 9 tailed fox). Kakashi which is already a good fighter without the sharingan makes him more dangerous having the fact that he posseses it. So it doenst matter if your body cant keep up, sharingan will predict your movements and resulting in a direct counter attack..

@2nd answer.. it seems youve only seen the american version.. You do know that Naruto is already at 202 in Japan? and we are around 30-40 something? meaning it wont really affect US much since they already have all the episodes.. it'll take a couple months before US gets to 202 ^^

if you watch that episode where they did the rock paper scissors battle.. Gai mentions that they also battle in many different ways, like swiming, diving, eating contest LMAO.. it was on 202 =p

As much as people like Kakashi they tend to make the mistake of labelling Gai as weak or weaker. I can tell you that during the chuunin exams there would be no way in hell Kakashi could beat Gai, in terms of speed,power, and endurance Gai dominates Kakashi. you might wonder, what about the sharingan eye? We saw that during the match between Lee and Sasuke that the sharingan is useless if your body is unable to keep up with your eye. Now compare Lee to Gai...1)Gai is much older than lee therefore stronger and faster 2)Gai trains with larger and heavier weights than lee 3)Gai is so passionate in his rivalry with Kakashi it can be said that he developed strategies specifically against sharingan users.4)Gai doesn't just excel in Taijutsu alone, his genjutsu and ninjutsu were 3/5, the last time I recall(which isn't impressive, but isn't bad for someone who isn't a genjutsu or ninjutsu specialist) I can tell you this, If Itachi was nervous around Gai then he must really be something, it wouldn't be too off the handle to say that Gai is the strongest jounin from konohagakure, however I'm not sure who would win during the time skip. I'd like to add that the emotional state can also be a factor in to whether or not Kakashi could beat Gai, looking back, my geniune impression of Kakashi was that he was geniunely depressed, whether it be traumatic issues from his past or something else, Kakashi is always morbid. The opposite could be said about Gai although to the extreme. Gai is very energetic and he appears to be happy. This could clear some air up between their rivalry. Kakashi isn't nonchalant towards Gai's advances because hes so "cool", hes like that because he honestly doesn't feel passionate about anything. It seems as if you don't quite understand my friend, knowing what your opponent will do next and actually being able to counter their attacks are two different things, I had the three tomoe in mind when I composed my argument. Now tell me this, do you honestly think Kakashi could predict and counter a 6th gate Gai, and if you tell me yes then you are in denial. I don't mean to be harsh with you but the purpose of the gates are specifically used to hit with a such a speed that you can't possibly defend against. Why do you think Gai said that the answer behind Lee defeating Neji lies within the gates? I'll give you a real life example, you see a handle of a gun, you make a prediction that someone would use the gun, does that mean you will be able to avoid a bullet?

So far, I think Gai is winning 49-50. I think. But I don't believe that Gai is better. Gai is great and all, but Kakashi is better by skill. So what if Gai is fast? Kakashi can depict his movements and knows many jutsu. I mean, if U look back at Lee's memories in one episode, one of the challenges was Ro, Sham, Bo (rock, paper, siscors). That's basically luck. The challenges should be death-matches or something. N.E.wyz Kakashi would win.

Kakashi is definitely better, I mean, c'mon, he's got the Sharingan eye! Although Gai excels at Taijutsu, which the Sharingan is useless against. Kakahi has beat Gai that many times--all with a sense of boredom! Gai just considers Kakashi his rival...and he's just a little crazy, but funny!

No... read it again... they moved they air date for new episodes in Japan to Thursday.. so they need till Friday for the subs...I hate the American Version and I hate the words Believe it!
