to the best or my knowledge, you don't need a reason, birth and death certificates are PUBLIC records. I just received my father-in-laws and my brother-in-laws birth certificates for just 10.00 and the asking.

If you feel you need a reason just state the truth you want to know the "cause of death" for family health issues, or for family historic records, whatever, I don't think you need a reason

There are more reasons than for that purpose. If he has an estate or living will you would have to provide this document for the proof of his death to probate courts and attorneys.

If he was accepting any benefits from a place of employment in
the past, and to provide this document to the Social Security Administration Board.

I do hope this a start for you.

Good Luck

you don't need a reason, upon a death extra copies should be always be ask for. you never know when one will be needed. As one person noted life insurance, student loans, credit card/s or just to keep on file for future needs too.

You could say that you need it in order to cancel a credit card or because you need it for a life insurance policy as proof of death.

i presumed this turned right into a non-partisan question at the start, nicely it truly is a shame. i have in no way called someone Un-American for disliking/ disagreeing with Obama, a reliable quantity of my pals don't like him one bit. i don't believe of that is un-american or treasonous to opt to secede, both, lots of the states desirous to do that are states I easily imagine the US may be better effective off without.

Is wanting to know how he died not a valid reason?

George Costanza got one by saying he wanted it for his scrapbook collection for a momento, even though it was really to get some kind of discount offer, i think.
