Latinos like fried chicken. At least I do. Does it make a difference if chicken is spicy, is it the crunch, or the herbs and spices. Looking for personal opinions, or if you have family / friends that prefer one or the other, would like to know that, too.

My parents are from Mexican, Spanish Basque and Italian ancestry & both were born in Arizona & New Mexico. I was born in East Los Angeles and grew up on Mexican homemade food (although I can easily say "quesadilla", I was too lazy to become bilingual) so I'll give my personal expert opinion to your question.
Both sets of my grandparents always bought us chicken at KFC, original recipe, mashed potatoes/gravy, potato salad and buns (they hated the cole slaw or macaroni salads). In fact, they didn't called it Colonel Sanders but "Colonel Sanchez". Both my parents would only eat at Colonel Sanchez as well. They steered us away from Popeyes or Churchs. After I finally was allowed to move out of their home (you know how Mexican families stay together--to move out at 18 is an insult) I snuck over to Popeyes and Churches and gave it a try. But Popeyes had the wrong spices to me and Churchs was too greasy. When El Pollo Loco came along, my parents tried it and decided to "allow" us to eat there and I have to admit that I went with a bad attitude but loved it and haven't gone back to KFC since. It is just soooo good, and with the pinto beans and spanish rice with steamed flour tortillas and salsa, oh gosh, I get hungry thinking about it! I moved out to the High Desert of So.Cal to a small town and a year later an El Pollo Loco was built not even a block away from where I live--with a Fosters Freeze in it too. So its El Pollo Loco hands down, for me and my family. Plus their menu is huge now. Ok, that's my chicken retail review of the night.

My Dad's hispanic and he owns 4 Popeyes chickens in Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Guess that spice runs through his veins! (Hell he puts hot sauce on everything)

Most latinos like food at resturants if it is fresh. They have a keen sense that tells them if a food is fres, and if it is not, they get very sick...literally.
