I walk the line is my choice. Why, because I am 69 and Johnny Cash
disappeared for such a long time, but now is back because of the
Hollywood. I play (used to) flute and have the scores of all the greats
Johnny Cash, John Denver and the more recent Kenny Rodgers.
Nostalgia, I suppose. Apart from anything else and the trouble he
got into, he always was a great guy. Folksome Prison tells that
story which was written and performed in Prison for the overjoyed
prisoners. Who else could do this so well. I have not seen the movie,
and I don‘t think I will, prefer the original which is still strongly
engraved in my memory.

There really is too many to list. If I had to pick ONE , I guess it would be Cocaine Blues because it is so unique and it was an absolute Taboo kinda song back in those days. Every time I hear Johnny Cash, I think of being little and my Uncle who had to be the biggest Cash fan ever!

Cocaine Blues and A Boy Named Sue are my most favorites i cant choose between the two
Early one mornin while makin my rounds
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down
I went right home and went to bed
I stuck that lovin 44 beneath my head.
I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my pa, and he called me his son,
And I came away with a different point of view.
And I think about him, now and then,
Every time I try and every time I win,
And if I ever have a son, I think I'm gonna name him
Bill or George! Anything but Sue! I still hate that name!

I'm not a massive fan of Johnny Cash but his cover of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus was mind-blowing! He didn't just copy it but really made it into his song, and sang it with real feeling, not just a vain repetition. As a DM fan, I didn't think it would make a good country song, but Johnny Cash manages it. Amazing.
I also like Hurt- full o emotion and nothing like music now.

Orange Blossom Special- The harmonica part amazes me everytime I hear it.
Flesh and Blood- The most beautiful love song written.
Man in Black- It's a self-narrative, what's not to like?
Big River- one of his first songs- "He taught the weeping willow how to cry cry cry, and showed the clouds how to cover up the clear blue sky. Oh the tears I cried for that woman are gonna flood you Big River, and I'm gonna sit right here until I die."
I could really go on for days here. Johnny Cash is larger than life.
