i have a friend who is like my big sister and she said she loves me. she really forgiving and nice... but what does it mean to really love, like between friends. not spouses or boyfriends and girlfriends but between friends?????

Love between friends is being there always for them.
You have no "committment" like emotional baggage, but you enjoy thier company, and are willing to do anything for them.
You are basically not sexually compatable most of the time, (Some women, I have no "desire" for what so ever, and can never even THINK about having sex with, but they are the best friends I could ever want). You have no desire to have sex with them, or emotional desires in the least, but, you still value thier company, and love hearing them sing, or speak.
You can bond like sisters...
That just about explains it the best. No physical, or emotional ties, but, you know that she is the best person you would ever want to have around, and not be married to :)
I'm glad you found some one that is like that for you, so that you can have an extended family in her...

There's a difference in the way we love all of the people we love. Our parents, our children, our friends, girlfriends.
If a friend loves you, they love you like a sister or brother and they care about you, care about what happens to you. They're there for you when you need them.
