Ooh this is interesting. One of my classmates back in high school did a presentation about the methods of punishment back in the Holy Roman Empire. If you don't mind topics that are somewhat saddistic, that would make a great class presentation. Go to www.wikipedia.org and browse Category: Torture for more information. There should be some gadgets that you can make yourself in order to resemble some of the stuff they used.

In the same period I did my presentation on "Holy Roman Empire Cuisine" and did a savoury dish of eggs and artichoke. I don't remember where I got the recipe but there was this collection of ancient recipes about the food back then. Hmm... dunno if that counts as a working model for your assignment, but anyway, it's an idea
