My friend and I been friends for 20 years. She is 38 a daughter that is 7. She can't go anywhere by herself to the doctor, just to go to Wal-Mart. Has she just not grown up?

Maybe she has some self issues. She may not want to be alone or she just likes the company of others. There is nothing wrong with that. Maybe you could try to talk with her about it and see how that goes.

I hope this helps.

Maybe something bad happened to her when she was alone. Now she thinks everytime alone will bring on the same situation. Does she get anxious when going alone.

Maybe it is a way to control. She makes you feel bad (manipulates) so you go with her. She likes to play the victim.

She should figure out why she feels that way then she can fix the problem. But if she doesn't know why it might be hard to fix it.

Wow... my mind could think of a hundred possibilities... What do you think?

Obviously something has happened to her in the past that prevents her from going out alone, except to Wal-Mart. Have you talked to her about it?

what do you mean ? if her child is only 7 then no she can not go far unless the child is in school. If you want her to go out just a girl thing help her to get a babysitter, or even go half with her if she can not afford one, and the two of you get out for an evening

She meaning your friend I hope and not the 7yr old. Maybe your friend likes your company. I had a friend like that she would say go with me to some place and then we would be driving around God's creation. I hated that but it taught me a lesson. Not to go anywhere with her cuz you may not return.

That is normal I am 21 and I don't like to go anywhere by myself either.

That's not normal. Is she agoraphobic - afraid to leave the house? Is she afraid of driving by herself? Maybe she needs to see a psychologist. She needs help.

she probably just wants to chat while going places,, I personally like to go places by myself and won't always tell my friends if I am going just so I can go alone. But then there are times I want my friends to go.

Doesn't sound very normal for an adult that's 38 and has a 7yr. old!
