It had a woman than ran a motel and had secret passageways underneath the rooms that she used to go through and put snakes or spiders in the rooms to kill the people. I think there had been a strorm so a tree was blocking the road out of the place. it's probably at least 10 years old. I watched it when i was a kid and it's stayed in my memory but i never knew the title of the film and would love to see it again to see if it really is as good as i remember!!!

It sounds like one of the sherlock holme films, -The Speckled Band, where a woman was murdering people by putting snakes through the air vents in their walls

Hmmm I think you could be thinking about "Mountaintop Motel Massacre". It was one of those "mid-eighties" horrors that kinda blended in with the rest at the time...have a look at this link and see if it rings any bells...

I love horror films, but I don't recall that one. Do you remember who was in it? Yahoo movies will let you search for movies and so will Google, but you need at least a partial title and it would help to know what actor/actress was in it.
