I've always suspected my ex bf has spyware running on this system since he gave me this laptop

many wierd things--someone on my yahoo messenger who loggs off exactly when i do and i dont know who this is; "index" popping up on my screen repeating what i just wrote on Q&A, etc

I have Norton antivirus would this tell me if he is up to something creepy?

thanks

Ad-Aware by Lavasoft is largely considered the best anti-spyware program going. Find it at Download.com , and best of all...it's free.

Norton 2006 does a pretty good job protecting you from spyware and adware. But just to be on the safe side, I recommend downloading Ad-aware from www.download.com. It protects from both spyware and adware. Make sure to update the definitions, however, before you do a scan.

Here we go with the EX BF thing again...Spell crap out people.

Norton does not protect you from Spyware. Smart internet browsing and NOT downlaoding crap is your best protection.
Also running a Good Anti Spyware program helps.
