Have you tried going to your local library to see if they have a telephone book for Indy? I know our library here in Vanderburgh County, Indiana has phone books of major cities. You could look up his name in the book to try to locate him.
His SS# isn't going to help you find him since only the last four numbers are shown everywhere you look. It may help at the Social Security office in your area. You will need proof of your identity such as a picture ID, his legal birth certificate, and last known address. There maybe other documents that are needed.
If he has been missing for a certain amount of time, you can file a missing persons report. My daughter ran away 3 times and each time I filed a report. It doesn't matter what age they are, you can also file a missing report on an adult.
If you need more help, I will be going to Indy at the end of October to see my brother. I know how you feel when your child wants to shut you out of their lives.

His SS# isn't going to get you much in the way of actually finding him. Is he an adult? A minor? About the only way is a private detective. And to the poster "The Myster," and other similar posts, kids, the police don't run around helping someone find their long lost relative. That is NOT what they are in business for. They are in business to maintain law and order, NOT to act as private detectives for those in the general populace.

Pin point the last time you saw him heard from, to whom was the last kin or maybe a friend that he spoke with. Go to your local office that carries birth records, maybe even a census bureau.
If any one else has an answer, please by all means provide this person with additional information to what I had given.
Thanks So Much

Try Intelius People Search. https://www.intelius.com/people-search-ssn.html?ReportType=1&
You can search via SS# here. It's a premium feature, so you'll probably have to pay.
Good luck!
