I'v a mate who had a similar problem. He gave her x amount and both were happy with this agreement, if csa did it for them, they would have took x amount from him, but only made her income total to the max entitled to live on, due to recieving benefit. They ended up reveiwing their 'own' situation's, he had owing debts, leaving him enough to live on & stated to csa, he looked after child 'half week' & pays half of any fees, clothing, hols, uniforms, shoes, etc...? you would have to ask? CAB ? review your own circumstances ?

They do rather frown on couples making their own arrangements when it involves the Social paying benefits to single Mums who he actually bears the legal responsibility to pay for.
I think you'll find they've got you now that you've filled in the application. He could ask for a DNA test and get of the hook possibly.

in a word no, sorry hun, this was exactly the same with me and my ex. we arranged everything and then because i started to claim income support CSA got involved.
I tried explaining to them the situation but they said they were obligated to perform an assessment to work out how much you are entitled to.... they then said we could carry ont he way we were between us but with new amount, so we boht just told them we would..... although we carried on as we were....
but then of course benefit lowered as thought iw as receiving money i wasn't so in end i HAD to take full amount they suggested, i didnt want to but i had no choice as couldnt afford food otherwise!!
i think thats why they do it, they claim its for our own good and out kids best interests but its so they dont have to pay so much benefit.
basically only way for them not to be involved is to not claim benefits..... sorry hun and good luck

Your own agreement should have been put in writing in the way of a consent order. It may not be too late, if you seek a solicitor you could still do that. Unless you have in place a separation/maintenance agreement, that would work too.

I doubt it they want to take loads of cash off of him and only give you a small amount you could tell them he gives you a small amount of money for your child but be careful because they might doc your other payments.
