We are out here. I think most of it is lost in the flood of inane drivel that has surfaced thanks to a larger portion of the population being educated enough to spell words yet not enough to think for themselves and having access to free or next to free publishing (the Internet).

Be patient, our rapid technological advancement has outpaced our ability to make sense of it but that is changing. We are maturing into our abilities albeit slowly.

If we can keep from destroying ourselves or our civilization long enough for our species to grow up a little bit, history will come around again and a new renaissance will occur.

My gardener is a part-time Philosopher who paints in his spare-time. I'll get his number for you. Otherwise I think we are doomed if there is a dearth. These people are worth their weight in Gold. They can wax lyrical to you while painting your kitchen. They rock.
